How the Channel Bridge Works
Otelium's channel manager acts as a bidirectional bridge between your property and online travel agencies. It pushes updated prices and availability to every connected channel and pulls new bookings, amendments, and cancellations back into Otelium automatically.
- Sub-second inventory updates across all channels
- Automatic reservation creation from OTA bookings
- Mapping validation to prevent unknown room-type errors
- Commission-inclusive or net pricing per channel
- OTA cancellation handling with policy enforcement
Channel Setup & Mapping
Before going live, each OTA channel must be mapped. This means linking your Otelium room types, board plans, and rate plans to the corresponding IDs in the OTA's extranet. Without correct mapping, prices and availability cannot synchronize.
Overbooking Prevention
When a booking is received from any channel, Otelium decrements available stock and pushes the new count to all other channels immediately. If two bookings arrive simultaneously for the last room, the channel manager processes the first and rejects the second with a stock-exhausted response.
Price Synchronization
Prices originate from your contract periods. The channel manager reads these rates, applies any channel-specific commission or markup, and pushes the final sell rate to the OTA. A single price update in Otelium propagates to all channels within seconds.
Daily Monitoring
The synchronization status screen shows the health of every channel connection. Failed transmissions are flagged with error codes so your team can retry or investigate. Morning routines typically include checking for missed OTA reservations, failed price pushes, and stock mismatches.
